A secure and advanced solution for missing teeth

Highly advanced and modern, dental implants are widely regarded as one of the best ways to repair the gaps in your smile. They look, feel and function just like natural teeth, giving you support with replacement teeth for life.

Dental implants create a fixed new tooth root, placing strong titanium posts into the jawbone as a strong foundation for a natural looking crown or bridge. Titanium is very well tolerated by the body and fuses to the surrounding jawbone through a process known as osseointegration.

We can refer you to an implant specialist for placement and create a realistic and natural looking tooth structure to be fixed on top.

What are the benefits of implants?

  1. Secure – implants are strong and durable, held in place with your bone. They will not slip when you are eating or speaking.
  2. Aesthetic – implants feel just like natural teeth, and slot perfectly into your mouth. You can feel confident to show off a winning smile, and eat and talk naturally.
  3. Supportive – a missing tooth can cause your facial structure to sag. Implants provide support to your face and remaining teeth, as well as protecting your gum.
  4. Successful – implants are a well-established, safe, effective and successful way to replace one or more missing teeth in any part of your mouth.

Implant structures at The Old Stables

When your implant has been placed by the implant specialists at Audley Dental Solutions, we can connect it to a new tooth, using a special screw. We take the time to discuss your ideal outcome for your smile and answer any questions you have about the treatment process before beginning.

Your new tooth will look highly realistic and function just like your existing natural teeth. Within a few short weeks it won’t feel at all like you have a false tooth.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is dental implant treatment painful?

We use local anaesthetic during dental implant surgery to ensure you are comfortable, and you won’t be able to feel a thing. After treatment, it is normal to experience some discomfort, and this can be managed with pain relief advised by your dentist. Implant treatment is often less painful than having a tooth extracted.

  • How long do dental implants last?

Dental implants have the potential to last a lifetime if they are properly looked after. This includes maintaining an excellent brushing and flossing routine, looking after your general health and attending regular check up appointments with your dentist. The crown or bridge that the implant supports may need to be replaced over time due to normal wear and tear.

  • Will other people be able to tell I have implants?

Dental implants look and feel exactly like natural teeth. We can match the shape and colour of your existing teeth when creating your final fixed crown or bridge so it blends seamlessly into your smile.

  • Are there any alternatives to implants I need to consider?

There are other ways to replace a missing tooth, but none carry the same superior comfort, aesthetics and stability. A bridge or denture is less expensive than an implant, but they do not last as long. We are happy to go through all the options with you at an initial consultation.
